OK whatever let’s just get this out there.
the username is meritoustransfer. it’s the main blog, so if Homestuck is a large enough part of why I follow you, your notes will come from the Homestuck sideblog I’m about to create and will link to clearly hyopcondriackismet because that’s how Tumblr works. (meritoustransfer will primarily be a fandom blog, just, you know. not Homestuck.)
I’m not actually going to follow every single blog I’m currently following.
but please don’t take that personally!
if you’re not being followed by that blog, it’s probably because
- I don’t know if we are friends or if we were friends.
- like maybe we still follow each other but it’s hard to tell how much is because neither of us wants to admit that we just don’t talk anymore and never really mean to.
- I mean it’s okay that we don’t talk, that’s basically what Tumblr is. I mean it sort of sucks that we don’t Skype or AIM or anything else, but.
- depending on the situation, it might suck more to just sort of pretend we’re friends when really all that we make each other think of is how awkward we are around each other.
this is your opportunity to cut it off and never hear from me again, if that’s what you want. you don’t have to feel awkward for unfollowing me, you can pass it off as “I just didn’t notice and gradually forgot,” and that’s okay.
if for some reason I’m following you and you don’t like the implications of that, let me know. I’m pretty bad at knowing what’s going on.

OK so I thought of that new-blog stuff and I’m pretty decided, I think.
mostly I need a name now. and also I guess to decide if I want a Homestuck fandom blog and an Everything Else fandom blog. (which would probably include miscellaneous things like cool tattoos and original things and whatever else.)
anyway what I really mean to say right now is fuck the naming process OK?
OK I managed to come up with three names of appropriate dweebiness for their respective blogs (erring on the side of dweebiness).
I really hope my burn-out rate estimate for this fandom is at least a little right.
anyway this account will probably be going pretty inactive soon but I’ll keep you updated I mean the point is a rebranding not like running away from everyone. mostly an acknowledgement that people change over time.
so now I’m going to go get things set up. it might take a bit, or at least take a bit for me to steel myself for telling you guys the actual names I’m actually going to use.

I mean like. I actually do know something about how I’m going to do names. it’s just that it requires knowing words that start with K and there… aren’t a whole lot.
also I want them to be matching in more than just the one way I have in mind, but if one’s going to be Homestuck then it’ll have a Homestuck device and if the other’s Not Homestuck then it’ll have a different naming device. I guess the chat-handle device can be stealth!Homestuck but…
